FIRST Jr. STEAM Ahead Exposition at Jewett Elementary School

Superintendent Livingston and 4th grade "First Jr. STEAM Ahead" Students from Jewett Elementary School

What an exciting EXPOsition of FIRST Jr. STEAM Ahead by the 4th grade students at Jewett Elementary School last Thursday.  Each team of four students demonstrated the use of a robot to solve authentic problems using math, science, engineering, art, and technology for all to observe.

A thank you to the 4th grade students, teachers, staff, families,  Principal Lubelczyk and Assistant Principal Sharon Devincent for sharing this exciting program with the community, state and city officials, businesses, City Year, funders, and mentors.  This year,  Governor Hassan has proclaimed 2015 as a year of “STEM” (science, technology, engineering, and math) for students in K-12.    In Manchester, it is FIRST Jr. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) Ahead for our 4th grade students. A special thank you to Mayor Gatsas, Dean Kamen, FIRST, SEE Science Center, business, City Year, mentors and funders to make this possible for our Manchester students.
